Jennifer joined Ehlers in 2014 after serving as Principal and Owner of THE TAMMEN GROUP, a real estate development consulting and public affairs advisory firm. She has nearly 15 years of experience representing developers, property owners, and quasi-public agencies on matters related to zoning and entitlements, planning, economic development, tax increment financing (TIF), deal structuring, and early-stage project management for multi-family housing, mixed-use retail, municipal buildings, and real estate related policy matters. Her representation of developers and land owners combined with her public sector experience and strong working relationships with municipalities has resulted in the approval of over $600 million in new residential, commercial, mixed-use and municipal real estate development projects and business retention while securing more than $35 million in TIF and other financial subsidies.

She also served as Economic Development Consultant for the City of Des Plaines, Illinois and as Planning Project Manager for the Public Building Commission of Chicago. Jennifer is a regular lecturer on Development Negotiation for the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has spoken to various groups including the Illinois Tax Increment Association (ITIA), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Illinois Society of CPAs, and Stanford University’s Graduate School of Engineering.
