This site provides information for taxpayers of Rockford Area Schools ISD No. 883 regarding how the district’s proposed referendum will affect their property taxes. The site was prepared by the school district's municipal advisors, Ehlers, in cooperation with the school district. If you have questions about the information on this site, you may call Ehlers at the numbers listed below.
The district will be holding a special election on November 6, 2018.
Question 1 would increase referendum revenue authority by $750 per pupil. The new authority would increase each year by the rate of inflation and be applicable for seven years, beginning with taxes payable in 2019.
Question 2 would authorize a capital project levy in the amount of 3.576% times the net tax capacity of the school district beginning with taxes payable in 2019 and be applicable for ten years. The funds would be used for the acquisition, installation, replacement, support and maintenance of software, computer, mobile devices, improved technology, technology systems, networks, infrastructure, office and instructional technology and related training.
For additional information on how the funds would be used, click on the "Return to School District Website" button above.
Approval of Question 1 would cause an increase in taxes for 7 years, beginning with taxes payable in 2019. Approval of Question 2 would cause an increase in taxes for 10 years, beginning with taxes payable in 2019.
