Earlier this month, Ehlers was named to the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Top 150 Workplaces for 2020 which was published in the publication’s Sunday (June 28th) edition.  The recognition is based on the results of an employee engagement survey conducted by independent research and insights firm, Energage.  2020 is Ehlers’ first year participating in the Top Workplaces survey and program.

We are grateful to Energage for their insights, the Star Tribune for the recognition, and most importantly our employees for their voices and active engagement in helping make Ehlers such a great place to work.”

In the survey, Ehlers employees rated the company highest in areas of “development” and  “helpfulness” – stating that management excels at helping employees learn, grow and do their jobs well – and “meaningfulness,” whereby team members believed their work makes themselves feel like they’re part of something meaningful.  Ehlers’ staff further identified words like hardworking, client-focused, supportive and collaborative as the best descriptions of company culture.  These results didn’t surprise Senior Municipal Advisor and Ehlers Companies Board Chair Phil Cosson.

“Ehlers is a service business; we don’t make a ‘product’ per se,” Cosson stated.  “Rather, our clients hire our professionals for their expert advice and outstanding customer service. That fact alone makes our people our most valuable asset and it’s why we are so focused on creating and maintaining a positive and supportive work environment.”

Ehlers’ leadership team recently hosted a company-wide event to mark this recognition and celebrate employees.
